Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026
1. What these terms cover
These terms apply to everything RM Code ("we", "us") does for you. We work in two ways: an ongoing website service you subscribe to, described below, and project work such as building a website or an automation, which we quote individually. Where a quote we have given you says something different, the quote wins.
2. The ongoing website service
This is a standard service. It includes:
- Hosting, SSL, and security updates
- Automated backups
- Email support
- Minor content updates — changing text, swapping images, updating your contact details
It does not include new pages, redesigns, or new functionality. We are happy to do those, and we will quote them separately.
The price is the amount shown to you when you set up payment, billed on a recurring basis until you cancel. All prices are in Australian dollars. We aim to respond to support requests as quickly as we can, but we do not commit to a guaranteed response time.
Cancelling. There is no lock-in and no notice period. Cancel any time through the billing portal we give you access to, or by emailing rhys.mcdonald@rm-code.dev. Your site stays up until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund unused parts of a paid period except where the Australian Consumer Law requires it, and we will give you a copy of your content on request. We may suspend or end the service if payment fails and stays unpaid after our payment provider has finished retrying, or if it is used unlawfully.
3. Project work
The scope, price and timeframe of a build are set out in the written quote we provide before starting. A few things apply to all project work:
- Costs on your own accounts are yours. Where something runs on infrastructure or services in your name — cloud platforms, domains, third-party subscriptions, API usage — those providers bill you directly, and their pricing is outside our control.
- Automations depend on other people's software. If a provider changes, deprecates or breaks something we have built against, fixing it is not covered by the original price. We will quote the work to put it right.
- We need access and input. Timeframes assume you provide the access, content and approvals we need when we need them.
- Delivery ends the job. Ongoing maintenance or support is only included if it was quoted.
4. What you own
Your content is always yours — your text, images, logos and business information. You can ask us for a copy at any time.
Automation systems we build and hand over to you are yours. No lock-in: they keep running whether or not you keep working with us.
A website we host for you works differently. You have the right to use it for as long as the service is paid for, but the underlying design, code and infrastructure stay ours, including anything we reuse across clients. If you stop the service, you keep your content and your domain, and the hosted site comes down.
5. Responsibility and liability
We take care to do good work, but we cannot promise a service will never be interrupted or that software will be free of faults.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, and those rights apply regardless of anything written here. Where we are permitted to limit our liability, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us for the service the claim relates to in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost business.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
6. Contact and changes
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change materially affects a service you are paying for, we will let you know before it applies to you.
